Her journey into the entertainment industry commenced during her time at university when she stumbled upon a Facebook audition call for budding talents aged 18 to 35.

Despite the timing coinciding with her first-semester exams, Sonia seized the opportunity and auditioned in Abuja.

Her perseverance paid off when she landed her debut role in the movie”Complicated,” sharing the screen with industry veterans like Olu Jacobs and Patience Ozokwor.

Sonia Uche acting career also gained momentum in 2019 when she starred in “Frank’s Wife” as a naive village girl.

The actress is the firstborn in a family of four girls. She is the eldest daughter in her family. Her sister, Chinenye Uche, is also an actress who debuted in Nollywood in 2000. She has been featured in films such as World of Lust, More Than Sisters, Living Nightmare, Voice of a Mother, and Slay Mother-in-Law.

Her mother is an award-winning director, Nollywood actress and film producer named Uche Nancy. Her mom has appeared in several Nollywood films such as Twins Apart, The Lamb, World of Lust, and Faces of Betrayal. She won the 2016 AMVC Award for Best Costume Designer and the Best Producer of the Year in the Actord Guild Award.

Sonia Uche is the daughter of renowned costumier and producer- Uche Nancy.

She is currently single and not engaged in any relationship. However, when questioned about it, she stated that she wishes to ‘take her time as her parent’s divorce affected her mentally.
